So far, I think it's going pretty okay. The mural will extend right to the top with the help of a cherry picker. I'm looking forward to getting onto the machine. It's quite taxing on the body. The arm gets heavy and the shoulder starts to ache after an hour and I have to take regular breaks in between. But I love it. It's the beginning of my second week of my residency in Paris. I'm settling in pretty okay. Work on the mural at Palais de Tokyo will start tomorrow and I hope to be able to share some pictures of the process when I can. Currently listening to the Best of the Smiths in the studio. The weather has been pretty kind.
Am currently in Paris to prep and eventually start work on a mural for the Secret Archipelago show. Have already been here for 72 hours and will continue to be here till the end of March.
Now, I'm sorry I haven't been here. It took a while. Been pretty occupied with a couple of things. I'll be leaving for Paris this Saturday to start on the mural that I'll be presenting for "Secret Archipelago" over at Palais de Tokyo. It's gonna be fun. Friends will be there. Most of whom I admire as artists, curators....as people. Will be there for the entire month of March.
Am also busy preparing for "Singapore: Inside Out", with the opening being in the city of Beijing at the end of April. I took a picture of a mock up and it's up on my Instagram. I will try my best to update the blog as often as I can. Here's a picture of people working on building new flats right opposite from where I stay. "ILLUSION OF POWER" is a bag I thought up for the "Everyday Objects" series; a joint initiative by the good people from The Farm Store and Museum Label. The bag is not for sale, though. But do check out the rest of the products here.
